We designed it to keep your data on your own device. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with your information. SUMMARY -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - We do not collect any personal data. Vivid Player has no user accounts, no sign-in, and asks for no name, email address, location, contacts, or payment information. - We do not use analytics, tracking, or telemetry. The app does not send usage statistics, crash reports, advertising identifiers, or any other data to us or to any third party. We operate no servers that the app reports to. - Your content stays on your device. Information about your media library, playback history, settings, and saved streams is stored only in the app's local storage on your computer. INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To provide its features, Vivid Player stores the following locally, in the app's private storage folder on your PC. None of this is transmitted to us or to any third party: - Settings - playback preferences, subtitle styling, audio output choice, interface language, and diagnostic log level. - Media library - for folders and files you add, the app stores file paths, titles, duration, resolution, codec/HDR details, file size, and locally generated thumbnail images. - Playback history - the files you have played, your last playback position (for "resume"), and the subtitle file associated with a video. - Saved streams and playlists - for online sources you add, the app stores the stream/playlist URL, any note you enter, and any custom HTTP headers, Referer, or User-Agent values you choose to provide. If you paste credentials into these fields, they are saved locally and sent only to the host you specified. - Diagnostic logs - optional local log files used for troubleshooting. They may contain file paths and stream URLs you have opened. Logs are written only to your device and are never uploaded. You can set the logging level (including "None") in the app's Settings. You can remove all of this data at any time by clearing the relevant items in the app or by uninstalling Vivid Player, which deletes the app's local storage. NETWORK CONNECTIONS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vivid Player connects to the internet only to fetch the content YOU explicitly ask it to: - Online streams and playlists - when you open a stream URL or import an M3U/IPTV playlist, the app connects to the host you provided to retrieve that content. For some streaming formats the app runs a local accelerator on your own computer (a loopback proxy at 127.0.0.1) to improve playback smoothness; this is purely on-device and does not send your data anywhere new. - Links you click - links to the Microsoft Store, system settings, or open-source project websites open only when you choose to click them. The app makes NO connections to any server operated by us, performs no automatic update checks of its own, and does not contact any host you did not provide. FILE ACCESS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vivid Player only accesses media files, subtitle files, and playlist files that YOU open through the app's file/folder pickers or by opening a file with the app (for example via "Open with" or file associations). It does not scan your drives on its own and does not request broad file-system access. THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vivid Player bundles open-source media libraries (such as FFmpeg and SQLite) that run entirely on your device and do not collect data. Optionally, for Dolby Vision playback, the app communicates locally with Microsoft's separately installed "Dolby Vision Access" component on your PC; this is on-device communication only and sends no data over the network. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vivid Player is a general-purpose media player and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
