# Network Insight Pro — Privacy Policy Effective date: September 22, 2025 Thank you for choosing Network Insight Pro. Your privacy and the security of the data processed by this application are important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information Network Insight Pro may collect, how that information is used, stored, and shared, and the choices you have regarding that information. This policy applies to the Network Insight Pro application distributed via the Microsoft Store, direct downloads, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). If you install Network Insight Pro from the Microsoft Store, the Store may also collect certain diagnostic or usage telemetry on behalf of Microsoft; this policy covers data collected by the app itself. --- 1. Who is responsible for your data - Developer: Technician - Contact email: [ankits39229@gmail.com] --- 2. Summary — in plain language - Network Insight Pro is a desktop network-monitoring application. It captures and displays information about local network connections and traffic on the device where it runs. - By default, all network capture and analysis happens locally on your device. The application does not transmit captured network traffic or connection details to our servers unless you explicitly enable a feature that uploads or shares data (for example, a cloud sync, remote-support, or crash-report upload that you opt into). - The app may collect anonymous usage and diagnostic information if you enable options for automatic diagnostics; this is optional and off by default. --- 3. Information the app may collect All collection described below happens only with the permissions you grant and primarily for the stated purposes. Where feasible the app minimizes collection and avoids transmitting raw payloads to external services. a) Network capture data (local only, by default) - Types: packet and connection metadata such as source/destination IP addresses, ports, protocol type, connection timestamps, process identifiers and names, bytes transferred, and other non-payload metadata required for monitoring. - Purpose: Displaying live network traffic, identifying processes using the network, and enabling local analysis and filtering. - Storage: Stored locally on the device in application data folders and optionally exportable by you (CSV, JSON, or pcap) when you choose to export. - Transmission: The app will not transmit captured network traffic or payloads off-device unless you explicitly choose to share or upload exports (for example, to send logs to support). b) Device and app telemetry (optional) - Types: app version, operating system and build, basic device information (OS version, hostname), feature usage (which screens or features are used), and crash diagnostics. - Purpose: Improve the product, diagnose errors, and prioritize features. - Control: Telemetry and automatic crash reports are disabled by default. You must explicitly opt in through the app's settings for telemetry/crash reporting to be sent to our servers. c) Diagnostics and error reports (optional) - Types: stack traces, error messages, and limited runtime state necessary to reproduce failures. May include anonymized identifiers but will not include full network capture payloads unless you explicitly attach and submit them. d) Optional account or cloud data (if present) - If the app offers an optional cloud sync, remote support, or account-based feature, we will explain what data is uploaded and request explicit consent before any upload or account creation. --- 4. How we use the information - Provide and operate the app features that run on your device. - Improve and troubleshoot the app (with your consent for telemetry/crash reports). - Respond to your support inquiries when you choose to share logs or exports. - Comply with legal obligations (e.g., court orders). We do not use collected network capture data for profiling, targeted advertising, or selling to third parties. --- 5. Sharing and disclosure - Other than the user's explicit actions (exports, uploads, or opt-ins), we do not share raw network capture data with third parties. - We may share aggregated and anonymized usage statistics (which do not contain personal data or network captures) with service providers or partners to understand usage trends. - We may disclose information to comply with legal obligations, to protect the rights and safety of users or others, or in connection with a sale, merger, or reorganization (in which case the acquiring party will be bound by privacy obligations). --- 6. Data retention - Local capture data: Retained on the device for as long as you keep it or until you clear the app's captured data (there is an in-app control to clear stored captures). - Telemetry and diagnostics: Retained according to our internal retention policy (default: anonymized aggregated data retained for up to 12 months) unless you request deletion. - Exported files: When you export log or capture files they are stored where you save them (outside the app) and are subject to your chosen storage/retention policies. --- 7. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA and similar where applicable) Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to: - Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. - Rectification: correct inaccurate or incomplete information. - Deletion: request deletion of personal data we hold (subject to legal retention obligations). - Portability: request your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format. - Restrict or object: request restriction of processing or object to certain processing activities. --- 8. Security We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect data processed by the Service. Because no system is completely secure, we cannot guarantee absolute security of data. If a data incident affects your data, we will notify you and any applicable regulators as required by law. --- 9. Children The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us,and we will take steps to remove that information. --- 10. International data transfers If you are located outside the country where our servers operate, your data may be transferred to and processed in other countries. When transferring data, we will use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses where required. --- 11. Third-party services and libraries The app may include or depend on third-party libraries. These libraries may have their own privacy practices. For example, if you enable optional crash reporting or analytics, those services (e.g., Sentry, Microsoft App Center) may collect information under their privacy policies. We will disclose and request your consent for such services where applicable. --- 12. Microsoft Store specific notes - Microsoft may collect telemetry related to installations and store analytics on behalf of Microsoft as described in the Microsoft Store policies. The app itself does not receive Microsoft Store telemetry unless you opt into additional telemetry features inside the app. - When you publish in the Microsoft Store, you must also declare in the Store submission the capabilities your app requests (for example, `runFullTrust`). The manifest contains those capability declarations and users will be shown permission prompts where applicable. --- 13. Changes to this policy We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will publish the updated policy in the app and update the "Effective date" at the top. Significant changes will be communicated where appropriate. --- Authored for: Network Insight Pro
